The Institute of Psychiatry is a
postgraduate research institute of the University of London. It is the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the
study and practice of psychiatry and related disciplines. It has the largest library of psychiatry-related material in Europe,
providing access to over 4,000 electronic journals, 500 subscribed printed journals, and 38,000 books. In the last Research

Currently the IOP has 320 students studying
for their PhD qualification and about 500 scientists, therapists, and doctors undertaking research into conditions from Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children to Fronto-Temporal Dementia (FTD) in older adults.
We have three state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners which allow us to take detailed images of the brain, high-tech sensors such as eye-tracking devices, and modern laboratories that allow us to collect genetic data from DNA.
We frequently collaborate with clinical teams from the Maudsley & Bethlem Psychiatric Hospitals, as well as King's College Hospital in South London. To learn more about us, you can visit our entries on Wikipedia for the Institute of Psychiatry, The Maudsley Hospital, and King's College Hospital.
